ARTEMIS TO RELEASE 'VERY BEST OF JESSE COLIN YOUNG' 2-DISC SET OCTOBER 4, 2005

Artemis Records will release The Very Best of Jesse Colin Young 2-Disc set on October 4, 2005. The compilation unveils over three decades worth of material, bringing together Youngbloods hits including 'Get Together' and 'Sunlight,' favorites from Young's Billboard charting solo catalog, and five never before released tracks including the new compositions 'Sweet Good Times,' 'Lovin' You,' and 'Eyes On The Prize.' All songs have been digitally remastered using 24-bit technology. The Very Best of Jesse Colin Young is the first retrospective release to include his years with the Youngbloods.

In 1969, the Youngbloods took the nation by storm when their single 'Get Together' became a worldwide top ten hit, and a prominent soundtrack for peace. After seven releases, Young returned to producing over fifteen acclaimed solo albums including 'Together,' the 1973 masterpiece 'Song for Juli,' and the remarkable 1994 release 'Swept Away.' During the upward ride of his exploding solo career during the 1970s, Young helped establish the "No Nukes" movement. Involved from the beginning, Jesse closed the legendary 1979 No Nukes Concert and movie with a rendition of 'Get Together' joined by Jackson Browne, Stephen Stills, and Graham Nash.

In 1992 Jesse and his wife established Jesse Colin Young's 'Morning Sun' Coffee Farm in Hawaii. The 100% Kona coffee is organic, estate grown, hand-picked, and machine-labor free.

Jesse Colin Young has dedicated his life to giving back to the world he and his family live in. He has performed on behalf of American Indians, has sung in prisons, teaches music at the Kona Pacific Waldorf School, and has used solar energy for his concerts. Young has always held environmentalism as a must from the time of the Youngbloods to his current endeavors as a performer, teacher, and organic farmer.
